A 22ª edição do Cine PE – Festival do Audiovisual, que acontece de 29 de maio a 4 de junho, traz para o Cinema São Luiz o curta-metragem de animação Desculpe, Me Afoguei, dirigido por Hussein Nakhal e David Hachby. Fruto de uma colaboração entre a organização internacional Médicos Sem Fronteiras (MSF) e o estúdio libanês Kawakeb, a produção será exibida na noite do dia 29, quando acontece a abertura do festival.

Inspirado em uma carta que circulou nas redes sociais em 2015, o mote do filme é uma correspondência que teria sido encontrada junto ao corpo de um refugiado sírio que se afogou no Mediterrâneo. O curta de 6:35 minutos, narrado em árabe com legendas em português, fala diretamente sobre os sírios que tentam chegar à Europa fugindo da guerra que, desde 2011, já exilou quase 5 milhões de pessoas.

Problema generalizado no mundo, a rejeição experimentada por imigrantes acontece em outras regiões. Muito países, inclusive, vêm deixando de lado sua obrigação de oferecer proteção e assistência a quem foge de conflitos, perseguição e violência. Embora não se conheça a verdadeira origem do texto, ele exprime com perfeição o sentimento dos que fogem de suas casas em busca de segurança e encontram portas fechadas.

Integrante da Mostra Hors-Concours do Cine PE, a animação será exibida na mesma noite da estreia nacional da comédia Mulheres Alteradas, com as atrizes Deborah Secco, Alessandra Negrini, Maria Casadevall e Monica Iozzi. A entrada custa R$ 5 (preço único).
